Who have you had sex with?
“But I’ve only had one sexual partner!” Ok, and how many partners has your partner had before you, and what about the amount of people his previous partners had before him and so on and so on. Unless there are two virgins between the sheets, you are not only exposing yourself to that one person. I know girls who became infected with an STD from their very first partner, and from this point forward can infect any other partner they are sexually involved with. The reality is, the younger you are when you become sexually active you are more likely to have more partners which can heighten your risk for becoming infected with an STD. There are several benefits to reserving sexual expression for a marriage relationship, one major one is it can save you from getting an STD, or having to tell your future spouse, “I have Herpes and you’ll probably get it too…” or “I have Chlamydia and didn’t get it treated so I will not be able to get pregnant…”.  It can prevent a man from having to worry about infecting his wife with HPV and possibly giving her cervical cancer.

Check out this chart and see how many people you’ve possible exposed yourself to! The number on the left of the chart is the number of sexual partners you have had and assuming that you and your partners have had the same amount of partners, the number to the left is how many people you’ve been exposed to.
